Position Overview:
Beam is reimagining beauty as a space for connection, not conformity. Our flagship store in Belgravia is home to professional makeup experiences, curated clean beauty, and community events, all designed to empower the makeup curious. Founded by lifelong friends Ellie and Ana, Beam is growing nationally and internationally, and we’re looking for a Store & Community Lead to ensure our flagship store and in-person community thrive.
The Role:
The Store & Community Lead is the heartbeat of Beam’s flagship store; responsible for ensuring operational excellence day-to-day, supporting our makeup artist team and building a strong, connected community of clients, members, and brand ambassadors.
This role is equal parts operational manager and community connector. You’ll keep the store running seamlessly while making sure everyone who walks through the door feels part of the Beam world.
Key Responsibilities:
STORE OPERATIONS
Oversee daily store operations, ensuring the space is welcoming and aligned with Beam’s brand values. Manage stock, retail displays, and reordering with retail partners. Maintain store readiness, cleanliness, and merchandising standards. Support founders in streamlining operational systems and processes.
TEAM LEADERSHIP
Manage scheduling and rota for Beam’s in-house makeup artist team. Act as the main point of contact for staff—ensuring clear communication, accountability, and high morale. Support training and onboarding for new hires. Lead by example with customer interactions and service standards.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Build strong relationships with members, VIP clients, and ambassadors. Gather and act on customer feedback to enhance the in-store experience. Support the delivery of loyalty and membership activations. Be a welcoming presence—making sure every client feels seen and celebrated.
EVENTS & ACTIVATIONS
Support the planning and execution of in-store events, brand activations, and workshops. Manage event logistics—set-up, staffing, and client experience. Collaborate with internal team members and retail partners for joint activations. Support event content capture and follow-up.
COLLABORATION & REPORTING
Provide weekly reports on store performance, customer insights, and team updates. Work closely with founders and other team members to align store and community activity with brand and growth initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve operations and community engagement.
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE
At least 2-3 years of retail management experience, hospitality, or community-focused roles. Preferably in a beauty, cosmetics, or fashion environment. Experience managing teams and driving sales is essential.
Experience in scheduling, managing stock, and running daily operations. Exposure to events or activations is a plus.
LEADERSHIP SKILLS
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and lead a diverse team.

ORGANISED & DETAIL-ORIENTED
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to engage with customers and communicate effectively with the wider team.
PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE
A solid understanding of makeup products, beauty trends, and the cosmetics industry is highly desirable.
TECH SAVVY
Comfortable using retail management software, point-of-sale (POS) systems and tech comfortable (Google Suite, Slack, Motion).
FLEXIBILITY
Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
